Q: "How often should I have my chimney cleaned?"
Though this is a question that is tough to answer without factoring in burning habits, age of the home, previous owners, etc., as a general rule you should have your chimney cleaned after two cords of wood have been burned. (How much is a cord of wood? Find the answer here.)
However, if you have been in the home more than a year or two and do not know when it has been cleaned last, chances are that it will need to be cleaned. Our servicemen can inform you after a quick look at the chimney whether it needs to be cleaned or not.
